Things I've been up to since being elected in 2022

Elected as EWSD Board Clerk
After a year on the board, I was nominated and elected board clerk in 2023. In that role over the last two years, I've worked closely with the board chair and vice chair as well as EWSD administration to ensure that board work has been accomplished efficiently while continuing to expand community voice.

In depth facilities tours
The board has worked closely with the district to take a comprehensive look at our facilities across the district. That has allow the board to better prepare for upcoming conversations with the community around the current state of our buildings and imagining what facilities will look like in the future to better meet the needs of our students and staff.

Pumpkin-palooza at Maple Street Park
When I first ran in 2022, community engagement was a big piece I ran on to better connect the board with the greater EWSD community. Pumpkin-palooza last Oct was one of the (best) events that we as board were able to be out in the community and talk to families directly while supporting an amazing event!

Staying busy at my day job
I still continue in my day job working for the National Weather Service, supporting partners from around the state. From supporting state officials, engagement with state legislators, outreach with the public, to supporting School Superintendents in school closure decisions, the weather always keeps me busy!

Superintendent Search
We on the board have been so excited to bring three amazing candidates from across the county to be the finalists for the next EWSD Superintendent! We have included the community every step of the way. From surveys, virtual and in person engagements, to student, staff and community interview panels, we brought forth three highly qualified candidates that represent the best of what you want to see in your next leader of EWSD.

Worked to expand community engagement with the Board
Over the last three years we have worked tirelessly to increase community engagement. Hosting events, attending school functions and meeting the community where they are. On top of community surveys around the Superintendent search & the budget, this has been the most engaged board in recent memory.
